Job summary

Dollar Tree in Louisville, KY is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily store activities and support customers with a positive attitude.

The role involves merchandising, opening/closing duties, and coordinating with the Store Manager to train and develop store associates in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, process damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom per company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and store policies by associates.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Keep the store clean, restocked, and presentable including bathrooms and floors.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
