Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Jasper, Alabama is seeking an Assistant Manager to support daily store operations and administrative duties while promoting merchandise and delivering outstanding customer service.

In the Store Manager's absence, you will assume supervisory responsibilities and assist with selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling. You will help recruit, train, and evaluate staff and ensure policy compliance.

Qualifications

• Retail experience in footwear or athletic apparel preferred.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and meet goals and profits.
• Self-starter with initiative.
• Strong attention to detail and multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling store assets.
• Consult with the Store Manager to develop action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Lead store operations in the Store Manager's absence.
• Participate in staff recruiting, training, and evaluation with the Store Manager.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers across departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to support profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure departmental standards are met.
• Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Ensure high-quality customer service per the service manuals.
• Perform general administrative duties and learn Store Manager responsibilities.
• Promote and upsell services and merchandise.
• Enforce company policies and internal controls; report fraud risk.
