Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland & East Central Ohio seeks an Assistant Manager to help run a Garfield Heights store. You will lead daily operations, schedule staff, and supervise donation processing, pricing, and sales.

You will work with the Store Manager to recruit, coach, and evaluate the team while maintaining HR paperwork and strong customer service. Expect responsibility for cash operations, attendance, and adherence to safety and CARF standards.

Qualifications

• Two-plus years of management experience or six months as a Goodwill team leader.
• Retail sales experience or demonstrated potential for management.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of name brands, antiques, vintage, and collectibles.
• Experience with computers.
• First aid and CPR certification required (can get certified after hire).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

• Run daily store operations and schedule staff.
• Supervise donation processing, pricing, and store activities in the manager's absence.
• Recruit, coach, and evaluate team members; maintain HR paperwork.
• Approve time worked and manage employee attendance.
• Manage cash operations, daily counts, and over/short reconciliation.
• Supervise backroom warehouse management and planning.
• Lead team in safety, retail, and CARF standards.
• Handle day-to-day employee relations and coordinate with HR.
• Review retail reports to evaluate performance and drive growth.
• Lead production goals and support the You Changed a Life campaign.
