Job summary

Goodwill of Lorain County is seeking a Retail Store Assistant Manager I to help operate the store, supervise staff, and deliver excellent donor and customer service. You will assist in managing daily sales goals and maintain a safe, attractive facility while supporting the Store Manager in all duties.

The role requires strong communication, leadership and cash handling abilities, with a focus on loss prevention and community relations.

Qualifications

Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills; time management skills required.
Ability to lead staff; to work with a diverse public.
Knowledge of retail daily operations, sales, community and customer relations.
Knowledge of computer technology, including cash register and POS systems, and computer programs (Word, Excel), social media and email.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently.
Valid driver’s license with good driving record and proof of current auto insurance required every six months.

Responsibilities

Act as Retail Store Manager in his/her absence and support operations.
Provide excellent customer and donor service and respond to needs in a timely and courteous manner.
Assist in meeting budgeted sales and production goals.
Direct, coordinate and monitor retail store activities and business under supervision.
Maintain facility security and loss prevention measures.
Perform administrative tasks including reporting, ordering, check-in/close-out, and cash management.
