Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, customer service, and team development in a fast-paced retail environment. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandise organization, payroll and scheduling, and loss prevention while maintaining a clean, safe, and inviting store.

Strong communication and leadership are essential to drive excellent customer experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills required
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner
• Organize merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor
• Perform opening and closing procedures
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise and loss prevention duties
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and stockroom
• Protect and secure all company assets including cash
• Enforce store policies and safety guidelines
• Help Store Manager supervise and develop Store Associates
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment
• Handle cleaning and restocking of bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
