Job summary

Family Dollar in the United States is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with day-to-day tasks, help organize merchandise, and maintain seasonal displays to reflect promotions.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to train and supervise Store Associates, and a commitment to safety, integrity, and excellent service for customers and colleagues alike.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal displays.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash deposits/receipts.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to safety policies and ensure associates follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
