Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development in Albany. Responsibilities include assisting with daily store activities, opening and closing procedures, merchandise flow, training associates, and upholding safety, cleanliness and loss-prevention standards to ensure a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred;
• Ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required;
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
• Process corporate directives related to store activities
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping and loss prevention
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff follow procedures
• Help Store Manager supervise, train and develop Store Associates
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and team
• Maintain cleanliness of the store including bathrooms and floors
• Other duties as assigned
