Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores INC is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run daily store operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and develop a high-performing team in Alabama. You will assist with opening/closing, merchandising, inventory, and loss prevention while ensuring safety and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Follow corporate directives and maintain store operations records.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise and processing damaged goods; payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Keep sales floor and stockroom well-stocked and organized.
• Protect store assets and cash; adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Support the Store Manager in training and developing Store Associates.
• Ensure a safe, respectful environment and professional interactions with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restrooms, floors, and back areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
