Job summary

Cavender's Corpus Christi, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Management Team in executing daily store operations, coaching associates, and driving performance to meet sales, labor, and customer experience goals.

You will open/close the store, supervise staff, handle customer issues, ensure visual standards, and lead initiatives to improve profitability while upholding Cavender’s culture.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to sell product and manage a retail department.
• Proven ability to drive results, develop talent, and excel in customer service.
• Ability to comprehend basic instructions, interpret documents and apply abstract principles to complex tasks.
• Associate must be able to read English.

Responsibilities

• Support Cavender’s Culture and drive Mission, Vision, and Values.
• Maintain active role in personal selling and meet/exceed sales per hour goals.
• Train all associate positions in the store and act as Manager on Duty as assigned.
• Assist in day-to-day management of the store and supervise associates to deliver Best of the WEST customer service and drive sales.
• Open and close the store as directed; address customer complaints; handle returns and exchanges.
• Assist in increasing sales, maintaining profit, and reducing controllable expenses using key metrics.
• Lead training of store associates on sales techniques and product knowledge; ensure compliance with company policies.
• Support a safe and secure store environment and report incidents promptly.
• Lead by example to deliver strong customer service and keep the store organized and well-presented.
• Monitor labor through scheduling and timecard management; approve payroll bi-weekly.
