Hibbett I City Gear in Peoria, IL is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, merchandising, and customer service. You will lead by example, supervise staff in the Manager's absence, handle scheduling, inventory, and trends, and ensure policy adherence while promoting store merchandise.

You will contribute to a high-performing team, drive results, and uphold company standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel.
1-3 years of customer service experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
Self-starter with initiative and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of the store.
Consult with the Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
Assume store responsibility in the absence of the Store Manager.
Participate in personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
Provide guidance to employees and customers in all departments as needed.
Ensure profitability by monitoring inventory, sales statistics, and expenses.
Direct staff to meet department responsibilities and standards.
Maintain customer service excellence as outlined in the manuals.
