Job summary

JCPenney is seeking an Asset Protection–Shrink specialist to observe activities, detect theft, conduct investigations, and document all stages in line with AP directives. You will interview customers and contractors, report fraud, and support store leadership with safety and incident response.

Domestic travel to designated stores is required. Applicants should have 1+ years in retail security or related leadership roles, a High School diploma, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 1+ years retail work experience or Asset Protection/Security leadership preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent; advanced degrees preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes activities to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity; collects investigative evidence utilizing CCTV and observations from the sales floor.
• Executes required Company investigation routines to identify and resolve theft, and properly documents all stages
• Conducts external interviews with customers and contractors suspected of theft.
• Reports suspected fraud and policy infractions to AP and/or Store leadership
• Creates and manages records for reporting apprehension, witness statements, retention of evidence, and disposition of recovered merchandise
• Collects evidence and/or monitors associate activity as needed in investigations and serves as an interview witness
• Proactively identifies potential acts of theft and fraud by observing activity and referrals
• Investigates suspicious behavior and documents findings
• Attends court hearings and updates related files; maintains relationships with law enforcement
• Travels to stores as necessary
• Analyzes intelligence on individuals and booster groups involved in theft
