Job summary

JCPenney is seeking an AP–Shrink professional to detect theft, conduct investigations, and document all stages. You will interview customers and contractors, report fraud to AP and leadership, and maintain evidence records. Travel to stores as needed and coordinate with law enforcement on cases.

The role requires 1+ years in Retail Asset Protection or security, a high school diploma, and 18+ years of age. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 1+ years retail work experience in Asset Protection or security.
• High School diploma or equivalent; further education in Criminal Justice or Business preferred.
• Must be age 18+.

Responsibilities

• Observe activities to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity; collect investigative evidence.
• Execute required Company investigation routines and document all stages.
• Conduct external interviews with customers and contractors suspected of theft.
• Report suspected fraud and policy infractions to AP and store leadership.
• Create and manage records for reporting apprehension, statements, evidence, and disposition of recovered merchandise.
• Collect evidence and/or monitor associate activity as needed for internal investigations; serve as interview witness.
• Proactively identify potential acts of theft and fraud by observing activity, reports, and referrals.
• Investigate suspicious behavior and document findings.
• Attend court hearings and maintain relationships with local law enforcement.
• Travel to stores as necessary.
