Job summary

Macy's, Inc. is seeking an Asset Protection Detective to protect assets, reduce shrink, and maintain a safe, customer-focused store environment. You will work with surveillance and investigations to identify theft and respond to incidents while supporting store teams and law enforcement.

Using proven reporting and documentation practices, you will help protect customers, colleagues, and merchandise, and you may participate in court testimony when required.

Qualifications

• Ability to observe, identify, and respond to suspicious activity in a retail environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with customers, colleagues, leaders, and law enforcement.
• Ability to use sound judgment, de-escalation tools and company procedures to support a safe environment.
• Ability to handle proprietary, sensitive, and confidential information with discretion and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Use surveillance techniques to identify theft and shortage trends.
• Partner with store teams and law enforcement to support investigations.
• Prepare clear documentation, statements, and evidence to support investigations, audits, and legal proceedings.
• Testify in court for criminal and civil cases, as needed.
• Respond to alarm calls and assist with first aid when needed.
