Job summary

MBH Architects seeks a Retail Architecture Project Manager to guide teams in Alameda or New York offices from concept through build-out. You will manage scope, budget, schedule, and work plans while mentoring staff and maintaining client relationships.

The role requires strong knowledge of building systems and codes, leadership, and travel willingness. MBH Architects supports hybrid flexibility and collaborative design across multiple brands.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture; licensed or pursuing licensure and LEED accreditation a plus.
• Experience leading retail projects from concept to build-out across multiple brands and offices.
• Advanced knowledge of building systems, materials, codes, and accessibility.
• Strong organizational and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Leadership and mentoring abilities with a collaborative mindset.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor staff to ensure project success and professional growth.
• Assign tasks based on scope and team strengths with technical guidance.
• Serve as primary client contact across all project phases.
• Manage deliverables, budgets, and coordination with consultants; ensure QC.
• Lead project meetings and respond to plan-check comments and changes.
• Provide construction administration, site visits, submittals, RFIs, and coordination.
• Forecast staffing, revenue, and resource needs; assist with billing and proposals.
• Report weekly status to Studio Director and contribute to contracts and interviews.
