Job summary

SERVPRO of Sugar Land is seeking a hands-on Lead Mitigation Technician to head projects involving water, fire, and mold restoration. You will supervise a small crew, coordinate on-site activities, and ensure timely, quality work from arrival through final walkthrough.

Responsibilities include mentoring 1–3 technicians, documenting moisture readings and drying progress, and communicating clearly with customers. Reliability and a strong work ethic are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience in restoration or hands-on trades (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, construction, carpentry, or field service).
• Ability to lead a crew on site and coach technicians.
• Clear, professional communication with customers.

Responsibilities

• Lead a mitigation crew on water, fire, and mold losses from arrival to final walkthrough.

• Document moisture readings, photos, drying logs, and notes the same day.
• Explain processes to customers and manage expectations on-site.
• Keep truck, equipment, and job sites clean, stocked, and safe.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation as needed.

Lead a mitigation crew on water, fire, and mold losses for SERVPRO of Sugar Land.

Pay: $20 to $25 an hour plus profit sharing.

What you own in your first 90 days

• Run your jobs from first arrival to final walkthrough: extraction, demo, drying setup, monitoring, and equipment pickup.
• Lead and coach one to three technicians on site, and set the pace and the standard.
• Document every job the same day: moisture readings, photos, drying logs, and notes.
• Be the face of the job for the customer. Explain what is happening and what comes next, and keep your word.
• Keep your truck, equipment, and job sites clean, stocked, and safe.
• Take your turn in the on-call rotation for after-hours losses.

What we require

• Steady work history.
• Restoration experience, hands-on trade experience that transfers (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, construction, carpentry, or field service), or parallel relevant job experience.
• Reliable transportation.
• Able to work on-call and irregular hours.
• Drug-free.
• Physically able to do field work.
• Clear, professional communication with customers.

Nice to have, not required. We train and certify.

• IICRC WRT, ASD, FSRT, or AMRT
• Experience leading a crew
