Job summary

MDS Staffing in Reston, VA is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager focused on ground-up restaurant and retail builds. You will manage multiple projects from planning to execution, coordinating crews, schedules, and budgets to deliver high-quality commercial spaces on time.

Hybrid work is available. Candidates must have proven restaurant/retail construction experience, including ground-up and tenant build-outs; Procore, Primavera or similar tools; and strong leadership to guide

Qualifications

• Mandatory experience in restaurant and retail construction, including ground-up, open-door remodels, and tenant build-outs.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with contractors, vendors, and clients.
• Experience reading and interpreting construction blueprints and site designs.
• Proficiency with construction management/scheduling software (Procore, Primavera, Raken) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive full-cycle construction management for multiple concurrent restaurant and retail projects, overseeing schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure safety, quality standards, and compliance with local codes and best practices.
• Monitor project expenses and implement cost-control measures to deliver projects within budget.
• Review, interpret, and execute against complex project blueprints and architectural designs.
• Identify risks or delays and implement effective mitigation strategies using standard software.
• Lead meetings with contractors, vendors, clients, and internal teams to keep stakeholders aligned.
