Job summary

SONIC Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in running daily drive-in operations. You will train and coach crew members, supervise shifts, and ensure quality food in a clean, safe environment while delivering a positive guest experience.

You will oversee staffing, inventory, and cost controls, perform opening/closing duties, and respond to guest needs with professionalism and urgency. This role requires flexibility with hours and a focus on excellent service.

Qualifications

• Minimum restaurant management experience (6 months) or 1 year retail management; experience running shifts without supervision.
• Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Effective communication, basic math, reading and computer skills.
• Willingness to adhere to appearance, uniform and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Mentor, train, coach and supervise Team/Members, Carhops and Skating Carhops.
• Direct and assign staff to meet service standards.
• Maintain compliance with policies and practices in the handbook.
• Execute opening and/or closing duties for shifts.
• Monitor staffing, inventory and food cost; adjust accordingly.
• Complete weekly inventory as needed.
• Handle administrative tasks and maintain records.
• Foster a customer-service mindset and responsive guest service.
• Address guest requests and resolve complaints with guidance.
