Job summary

SONIC Drive-In is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in running daily drive-in operations, ensuring guest satisfaction, safety and efficiency.

You will train and coach team members, supervise carhops and skating carhops, and help manage staffing, inventory and costs while upholding SONIC's standards and guidelines. This role requires flexibility with hours and a customer-first mindset.

Qualifications

• Six months of restaurant management experience (QSR) or one year entry-level retail management.
• Ability to work irregular hours, nights, weekends and holidays.
• General knowledge of the restaurant industry or retail operations required.
• Basic math, reading and computer skills.
• Ability to follow directions and work with autonomy; multi-task and solve problems.
• Willingness to abide by appearance, uniform and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in managing drive-in operations.
• Train and support other employees to ensure quality food in a clean, safe and efficient manner.
• Direct and coach Team Members, Carhops and Skating Carhops.
• Open and/or close the drive-in restaurant as needed.
• Monitor staffing levels, inventory levels and food cost control.
• Complete weekly inventory and required documentation.
• Reinforce a customer service mentality and ensure all employees are focused on serving the customer at all times.
• Address guest requests promptly and report complaints to supervisor to help resolve them.
