Job summary

Portillo's in Illinois is seeking a Restaurant Manager to lead a high-energy team and deliver outstanding hospitality during busy shifts. You will model standards, coach staff, plan schedules, manage inventory and labor, and ensure food safety and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of Restaurant Management in a high-volume, fast-paced setting preferred.
• Knowledge of restaurant operations, recruiting, scheduling, sanitation, food quality, and security.
• Aptitude for leading, coaching, and driving excellence.
• Understanding of P&L and restaurant operations.
• Must pass required sanitation and responsible alcohol courses.
• Great communication skills in English.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Flexibility to work 50+ hour weeks, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Model operational standards and execute critical behaviors to run great shifts.
• Motivate and manage team members to provide highest level of hospitality.
• Demonstrate leadership with a focus on coaching and achieving excellence.
• Foster team engagement through recognition and communication.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation, food and restaurant safety regulations.
• Train Portillo's team members on operations of the restaurant.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences and memorable visits.
• Execute shift planning, scheduling, training, and daily routines; open/close the restaurant; manage cash handling.
• Plan for and make decisions around inventory, budget, and labor.
