Position Summary

The restaurant manager helps to set clear direction and expectations so every member of their team knows exactly what is expected of them, and then removes all obstacles or roadblocks to ensure proper execution of our standards, specifications, and recipes by their team.
The ideal candidate for the Manager position will:
The Restaurant Manager is responsible for the overall operation of their assigned restaurant. Key responsibility areas include team performance, increased sales and profitability, effective cost controls, and development, training and retention of key employees. The manager is responsible to work actively to ensure the restaurant meets financial and operating goals.
Managing Performance
Ensure that the restaurant operates efficiently and effectively within the company's fiscal and operational guidelines. Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Develop initiatives to build sales, profitability, and guest counts. Maintain effective cost controls in support of these initiatives. Ensure all safety and security systems and procedures are followed. Ensure secure, safe handling and transportation of funds. Support and implement the company marketing programs.
Physical and Food Operations
Maintain the physical appearance of the restaurant and uphold Genghis Grill's theme and format. Ensure all food items are prepared according to recipes and presentation standards. Oversee food safety, sanitation, and inventory management. Purchase food within guidelines and oversee receipt, storage, and handling to ensure quality.
Customer and Employee Relations
Respond to guest comments positively, using feedback to improve. Ensure a safe environment for employees and guests. Conduct regular meetings, provide counseling, and discipline as necessary, adhering to legal standards.
Staffing and Team Building
Hire, train, and develop staff, fostering a team-oriented environment. Use established methods for interviewing and reference checks. Provide ongoing training and recognition, and develop management and internal candidates.
Administration and Compliance
Maintain labor efficiency ratios, oversee P&L performance, and ensure compliance with all administrative requirements including cash handling and governmental postings. Ensure accurate and timely reporting and documentation.
Additional Responsibilities
Coordinate miscellaneous projects, participate in company events, and support brand initiatives.
High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in restaurant management preferred. Over 2 years of professional restaurant experience. Valid driver's license. Knowledge of labor laws, health codes, and food safety. Strong people management, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
