The Post & Velvet Elk Lounge - Boulder - Restaurant Manager

We’re seeking a dynamic, hospitality-driven leader to support the daily operations of two of Boulder’s iconic venues—The Post and Velvet Elk Lounge. This management role requires someone who thrives in fast-paced, energetic environments, leads with confidence and compassion, and can motivate teams through busy dinner hours and lively nightlife. You should have a passion for excellent food, craft cocktails, and memorable guest experiences, with a strong background in serving craft cocktails, understanding balance, technique, and presentation.

The Post offers a welcoming space for comfort food, cold beer, and community, while Velvet Elk Lounge provides late-night energy with live music, DJ sets, and creative cocktails. As manager of both venues, you will set the tone, shape the culture, and lead two distinct teams with a shared goal: delivering top-tier service and unforgettable moments. What we expect:

Our managers demonstrate natural leadership and professionalism, managing teams with compassion and intelligence. You are a lively, warm, attentive, and conscientious host, ensuring guests and staff feel welcomed and cared for. Enthusiasm for learning about beverages—especially beer—is essential (Cicerone Certification is a PLUS!). Growing food knowledge and developing communication skills are also important to create a welcoming environment.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year in a hospitality management or restaurant leadership role
  • At least 1 year of server, bartender, or service captain experience in a full-service or casual upscale restaurant
  • TIPS & ServSafe Manager Certified (training provided)
  • Ability to handle physical demands such as bending, reaching, standing for long periods, and lifting heavy or hot items
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Integrity, honesty, intelligence, and eagerness to learn
