Job summary

Firmdale Hotels NYC in New York City is seeking a Full-Time Restaurant & Bar Host at the Whitby Hotel to welcome guests, answer calls, take reservations, and seat guests per their preferences. You will provide timely seating and ensure a warm, professional welcome from arrival to departure.

The role requires AM/PM shifts, weekends and holidays, with duties spanning coordination with hotel teams and promoting Firmdale properties. Commitment to punctuality and guest satisfaction is essential.

Responsibilities

• Greet all guests warmly upon arrival
• Provide guests with estimated waiting times, maintaining a professional and courteous attitude
• Seat guests according to their preferences while balancing customer flow in service stations
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return, relaying any feedback to the manager on duty
• Maintain excellent communication between the restaurant and other hotel departments
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager on duty
• Promote other Firmdale Hotels and restaurants
• Ensure punctuality and personal responsibility in all tasks

Join the Whitby Hotel Team as a Full-Time Restaurant & Bar Host!

Are you passionate about creating memorable experiences for guests? We’re looking for a friendly, professional Bar Host to join our team!

As a Bar Host, you'll be the welcoming face of our establishment, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. You'll greet guests upon arrival, answer the telephone, take reservations, and ensure that our guests are seated promptly and according to their preferences.

Main Duties:

• Greet all guests warmly upon arrival
• Provide guests with estimated waiting times, maintaining a professional and courteous attitude even in challenging situations
• Seat guests according to their preferences while balancing customer flow in service stations
• Thank guests as they leave and invite them to return, relaying any feedback to the manager on duty
• Maintain excellent communication between the restaurant and other hotel departments
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager on duty
• Promote other Firmdale Hotels and restaurants
• Ensure punctuality and personal responsibility in all tasks

Requirements:

• Friendly and welcoming demeanor

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Be able to stand for a complete 8-hour shift, 5 days a week.
• Able to use a computer keyboard and mouse, and telephone system.
• Ability to communicate both written and verbal, and use systems to document activities.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
