Job summary

The Whitby Hotel in New York is seeking a friendly, professional Bar Host to join our team as a full-time Restaurant & Bar Host. You will greet guests, answer calls, take reservations, and seat guests promptly according to preferences.

As a Bar Host you will be the welcoming face of the establishment, maintaining a courteous attitude and coordinating with hotel departments. Shift flexibility including weekends and holidays is required; OpenTable certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Friendly and welcoming demeanor.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Availability for AM/PM shifts, weekends and holidays.
• OpenTable certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival.
• Provide guests with estimated waiting times and seat guests per preferences.
• Coordinate seating to balance customer flow between stations.
• Thank guests and invite them to return, relay feedback to management.
• Maintain clear communication between restaurant and hotel departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager on duty.
