Job summary

Firehouse Subs is seeking an experienced Restaurant General Manager to lead stores in Portland’s westside suburban area, generally west and south of I-217. This is a hands-on leadership role with ownership of people, operations, guest experience, and financial performance.

Compensation includes $27–$30 per hour, overtime eligible, typical 45-hour weeks, weekly pay, and a performance bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, PTO, paid training, and holiday closures.

Qualifications

• 3+ years restaurant-management experience (QSR/fast-casual preferred)
• GM experience preferred
• Experience with scheduling, hiring, training, labor control, inventory, and P&L management
• Strong organization, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to work peak periods
• Availability for day, evening, weekend, holiday, and emergency coverage
• High school diploma or GED
• ServSafe Manager certification or ability to obtain promptly
• Able to meet the physical requirements of restaurant operations

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, coach, and retain a dependable restaurant team
• Develop assistant managers and shift leaders who can run strong shifts
• Build accurate schedules on time and adjust staffing to sales
• Manage labor, food cost, inventory, waste, cash controls, and controllable expenses
• Understand the restaurant P&L and take corrective action when results miss expectations
• Maintain food safety, cleanliness, equipment, and Firehouse Subs operating standards
• Ensure prep, opening, closing, catering, and administrative responsibilities are completed accurately
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest concerns
• Drive sales through excellent operations, local relationships, catering, and community involvement
• Communicate clearly with ownership and escalation of urgent concerns
• Create a culture of accountability, recognition, teamwork, and heartfelt service
