Job summary

IHOP is seeking a General Manager to lead daily restaurant operations, focusing on profitability, guest satisfaction, and adherence to IHOP standards. You will oversee front and back-of-house activities, manage staffing, training, and scheduling, and drive sales growth while maintaining quality and safety.

The role requires strong leadership, people management, and the ability to make decisions across all areas of the business.

Responsibilities

• Manage all areas to achieve positive and consistent sales growth while meeting or exceeding company goals in all profit and loss categories.
• Manage entire operation of restaurant during scheduled shifts, including daily decision making, staff support, guest interaction, scheduling, and maintaining standards, quality and sanitation.
• Provide employees with feedback for development and ensure adherence to uniform standards.
• Perform line checks to ensure proper weights, temperatures, cleanliness and organization.
• Ensure proper staffing levels to guarantee guest satisfaction and sales growth.
• Interview, hire, and train hourly staff; conduct orientations and oversee IHOP’s training program.
• Prepare end-of-shift reports (sales, cash, labor) and other processes to control assets.
• Prepare food production checklists and ensure correct execution of company recipes.
• Order food, supplies, uniforms and other items to unit par levels to maintain standards.
• Identify opportunities and implement plans to address them.
• Approve discounts of any kind for food or beverages.
• Maintain a safe environment for guests and employees and notify supervisor of incidents.
• Keep supervisor informed of unit issues and take corrective action when needed.
• Complete duties and performance objectives per company policies.
• Project IHOP positively to enhance public recognition and support business goals.
• Perform duties as required, indoors primarily with occasional outdoor work.
• Be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays during busiest times.
