Job summary

Perkins Restaurant & Bakery in Minnesota is seeking a General Manager to lead daily restaurant operations, drive sales and profitability, and ensure exceptional guest experiences. You will supervise all team members, enforce company policies, manage staffing, training and development, and uphold food safety standards.

This role requires strong leadership, clear communication, and hands-on involvement during peak hours to maintain guest satisfaction and a positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Two years previous experience in a management role; preferably in the food service industry.
• High school diploma; some college or degree preferred.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with guests and vendors in person and by telephone.
• Must be able to operate the cash register.
• Must be able to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Achieve planned profit levels while ensuring maximum guest satisfaction.
• Plan and analyze restaurant unit manpower, ensuring sufficient development and training of all employees.
• Responsible for all aspects of employment and restaurant staffing including recruitment, training, and orientation.
• Conduct annual performance reviews and prepare employee documentation.
• Attend University of Perkins and complete coursework; maintain ServSafe certification.
• Perform and assist in all functions for all positions; ensure proper food handling and sanitation.
• Ensure staff monitors food temperatures and maintains standards; schedule and staff effectively.
• Manage facility and equipment maintenance, safety, and sanitation compliance.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and cost controls; manage procurement and waste.
• Prepare financial reports and present to management; participate in regional meetings.
