Job summary

Horizon Hospitality is seeking a dynamic General Manager to lead operations for a chef-driven restaurant and intimate bar concept in a vibrant Michigan college town. The role oversees front-of-house service, financial performance, and team development across both venues, with a focus on hospitality excellence and guest experience.

The position offers a base salary range of $100,000–$125,000, plus performance-based incentives, comprehensive healthcare, PTO, 401k with match, and relocation

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in elevated, chef-driven restaurants and bars.
• Strong financial acumen with proven P&L results.
• Sommelier certification (Level 1+) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead front-of-house operations across restaurant and cocktail bar, building a culture of exceptional hospitality.
• Recruit, train, and coach high-performing teams while developing management talent at both venues.
• Stay visible on the floor during peak service to guide guest experience and service flow.
• Own budgets, forecasting, labor productivity, purchasing, and P&L, partnering with culinary/beverage leadership on events and growth.

Position Responsibilities:

• Lead front-of-house operations across both the restaurant and the cocktail bar, building a culture of exceptional hospitality.
• Recruit, train, and coach high-performing teams while developing management talent at both venues.
• Stay visible on the floor during peak service to guide guest experience and service flow.
• Own budgets, forecasting, labor productivity, purchasing, and P&L, while partnering with culinary and beverage leadership on events, partnerships, and growth.

Position Requirements:

• 10+ years of progressive leadership in elevated, chef-driven restaurants and bars, including substantial General Manager experience.
• Strong financial acumen, with proven results in P&L management, labor control, guest experience, and team retention.
• Solid wine and beverage programming background; Sommelier certification (Level 1+) preferred.
• Tech-savvy with restaurant software and analytics; available for nights, weekends, and peak times on-site.
