RESTAURANT ASSISTANT MANAGER

RGV AREA

Salary: $36,000–$40,000 per year
Schedule: Full-Time; Restaurant Hours of Operation 11am-10pm
Days Off: Wednesday & Thursday

POSITION SUMMARY

The Restaurant Assistant Manager supports the General Manager in the daily operation of the restaurant, ensuring excellent customer service, efficient operations, food quality, and a positive team environment. This position will assist with supervising employees, maintaining restaurant standards, handling customer concerns, and ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the General Manager with the daily operation of the restaurant.
• Supervise, train, coach, and motivate restaurant employees.
• Help ensure excellent customer service and a positive dining experience.
• Address customer questions, concerns, and complaints professionally.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, presentation, and service standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and security procedures.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and receiving food and supplies.
• Help control food costs, labor costs, waste, and other operating expenses.
• Prepare or assist with employee schedules and ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe restaurant environment.
• Ensure employees follow company policies, procedures, and appearance standards.
• Assist with cash register operations, deposits, and daily financial procedures.
• Communicate operational issues and employee concerns to the General Manager.
• Help implement company promotions, procedures, and operational initiatives.
• Lead by example and provide support to the restaurant team during busy periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous restaurant, hospitality, or food-service supervisory/management experience.
• Bilingual (English & Spanish)

SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION

• Annual Salary: $36,000–$40,000, based on experience.
• Full-Time Position
• Regular Days Off: Wednesday and Thursday
• Must be available to work weekends and other peak restaurant hours.
