Job summary

Buona Restaurant & Catering in Illinois is seeking an Assistant General Manager to drive sales and profit targets across Buona Retail and Catering. You will lead a diverse team, enforce advertising and HR plans, and manage direct expenses while mentoring employees toward shift management roles.

You will oversee labor, food costs, and financial forecasting, ensuring policies and controls are followed within a family-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in an AGM role (QSR preferred).
• Drive-thru and catering experience preferred.
• Comfort leading 10+ team members per shift.
• Familiar with budgets, payroll, revenue, and forecasting.
• Strong knowledge of restaurant practices and procedures.
• Strong administrative, multi-tasking, organizational and prioritizing skills.
• Proven leadership and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Achieve sales targets.
• Recognize all revenue areas and development strategies to impact sales.
• Enforce and execute advertising and marketing plans, and HR/training materials.
• Manage and control direct expenses.
• Direct labor, food cost variances, repairs and maintenance, discounts and other direct expenses.
• Selection, retention, supervision, and training of all employees.
• Conduct quarterly reviews and adhere to training programs.
• Determine advancement/termination and develop employees into shift managers.
• Provide guidance to the team and lead them toward success.
• Embrace the balanced corporate structure and family culture.
• Enforce policies, procedures, and controls.
