Job summary

HMSHost is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead a QSR or Casual Dine-style restaurant, ensuring cleanliness, readiness for service, staffing, and high operational standards. The AGM will follow prescribed policies to guide management decisions and drive performance.

The role requires supervision of daily activities, hiring decisions, and managing workflow to meet unit goals while upholding HMSHost policies and guest service standards across shifts.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in food & beverage, cash handling and customer service experience
• 4+ years supervisory or lead experience in Casual Dine or production kitchen
• Ability to read, write and understand instructions and policy documents and communicate with customers

Responsibilities

• Completes opening, daily and closing procedures per policies
• Supervises day-to-day activities of associates in the unit
• Interviews candidates and participates in hiring decisions and promoting HMSHost as an employer of choice
• Reads financial/operational data to monitor progress toward unit goals
• Manages day-to-day activities of restaurant staff
• Ensures diversity and inclusion in the restaurant
• Resolves customer and associate questions and refers complex issues to senior leaders
• Ensures compliance with alcohol policies and AB procedures
• Creates schedules and ensures shifts are covered
• Ensures mandated breaks are taken by associates
• Maintains clean, stocked display areas and well-functioning equipment
• Operates cash register and maintains cash security
• Monitors wellness and safety procedures and reports concerns
• Performs Health and Safety activities per guidelines
• Places orders, receives goods, processes invoices
• Maintains current contact information for associates
