Responsibilities
- Curate craft cocktails and/or beverages to guest specifications.
- Describe all bar items, including preparation methods and prices; possess extensive knowledge of all bar/menu items.
- Utilize proper shaking, mixing, and stirring techniques with required equipment such as Boston shaker, bar spoon, beakers, jiggers, Hawthorne/Juniper strainers.
- Provide local area knowledge, event information, and directions to enhance guests’ experience.
- Work with guests to accommodate special requests and dietary needs.
- Use suggestive selling on established menu items or specials to maximize food and beverage revenues.
- Serve menu items to guests promptly and courteously.
- Perform pre‑ and post‑shift side work, including set‑up, breakdown, condiments, roll‑ups, etc.
- Respond to guest inquiries and special requests promptly to ensure satisfaction; notify supervisor of complaints and unusual situations.
- Handle cash, balance the bank at the end of each shift, and calculate tip outs.
- Serve guests at the assigned station quickly and politely, obtaining food and beverage from prescribed locations and following established service procedures.
- Observe guests to fulfill additional requests and complete assigned side work as directed.
- Familiarize yourself with all items daily; after events, clean service area and accessories.
- Follow all standard food handling, TIPS, TitleIV, sanitation, and health department guidelines.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards of a comparable hotel, guest relations, and etiquette.
- Minimum age 19 years.
- Availability to work AM, PM, weekend, and holiday shifts as required by operational needs.
- Experience within a hotel or resort environment (preferred).
- Valid current Food Handlers Card or willingness to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
- Responsible Beverage Certified (TiPS) or TitleIV certification.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to meet guests’ needs through verbal face‑to‑face interaction.
