Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapy Services leader at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. The role oversees cardiopulmonary staff, ensures care per orders, coordinates staff orientation and ongoing education, and maintains equipment to meet JCAHO standards.

The position requires an AMA-approved Respiratory Care education, RRT certification, and state licensure, with an associates degree minimum and a bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Currently licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy with 2+ years in a Respiratory Care Department or RRT with 5+ years. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and supervises clinical activities of the cardiopulmonary staff.
• Assures the appropriate quality of care is administered as designated by physician orders or protocol.
• Conducts orientation for new employees and coordinates continual education of staff.
• Maintains & evaluates supplies and equipment.
• Assures that JCAHO standards and organization clinical policies are being followed.
• Assists in the development and implementation of departmental goals.
