Job summary

Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced Respiratory Care Department Supervisor to coordinate and supervise the cardiopulmonary staff, ensuring high-quality care per physician orders and protocols. This role also leads orientation and ongoing education for staff and oversees supplies and equipment.

Ideal candidates hold an AMA-approved Respiratory Care degree, NBRC‑credentialed RRT, and state licensure, with an associate degree required and a bachelor’s preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
• Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC.
• Currently licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner for the applicable state.
• Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy with minimum two years in a Respiratory Care Department or an RRT with minimum five years in a Respiratory Care Department.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Basic Life Support for healthcare providers through AHA required.
• Advanced certificates per facility policy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise clinical activities of the cardiopulmonary staff.
• Assure the appropriate quality of care as designated by physician orders or protocol.
• Conduct orientation for new employees and coordinate continual education of staff.
• Maintain and evaluate supplies and equipment.
• Assure adherence to JCAHO standards and organization clinical policies.
• Assist in the development and implementation of departmental goals.
• Provide direct patient care as needed.
