Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, IL, is seeking 2027 Respiratory Therapy externs for hands-on experience in the respiratory department. Per diem shifts offer 8-12 hours per week across Adult Care and NICU, under supervision of a licensed therapist.

Eligibility requires current enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program and BLS certification; no prior experience is required. Opportunities include exposure to a busy clinical environment and competency development.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Respiratory Therapy.
• No prior professional experience required.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational abilities with ability to work independently.

Responsabilités

• Under supervision of a licensed respiratory therapist, perform routine respiratory procedures as directed.
• Maintain supply inventory and ensure equipment cleanliness per standards.
• Transport and position patients safely and assist with age-appropriate care.
• Complete annual hospital competencies and learn new equipment as needed.
• Observe safety protocols and infection prevention guidelines during procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development across the age span for patient care.
