Job summary

Qualifications

• Credentialed by NBRC as CRT or RRT.
• Licensed to practice as Respiratory Practitioner in the state of employment.
• BLS required at hire and ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• Maintain licenses/certifications for duration of employment.
• Must read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adult or geriatric patients (age 18+).
• Explain procedures and document education in the patient chart.
• Administer physician-prescribed respiratory treatments and vary oxygen delivery.
• Set up, operate and monitor ventilators; participate in weaning as directed.
• Record patient responses and update respiratory care records and MARs.
• Perform tracheostomy care and tube changes per policy.
• Maintain ventilation and oxygen equipment; perform rounds and monitor devices.
