Job summary

Vibra Healthcare in Abilene, TX is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to operate respiratory care equipment and administer treatments under supervision of the RT Manager and Lead RT.

The position includes ventilator setup and weaning, blood gas analysis, and documentation of patient responses in a Long Term Acute Care environment. NBRC credential (CRT/RRT) and BLS are required, ACLS within 90 days post-employment.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a Respiratory Practitioner.
• BLS required at hire; ACLS within 90 days of employment.
• Credentialed by NBRC as CRT or RRT.

Responsibilities

• Care for adult and geriatric patients (18+).
• Explain treatments and document education in patient chart.
• Perform physician-prescribed respiratory treatments (nebulizers, oxygen, chest therapy).
• Set up and monitor ventilators; participate in weaning as directed.
• Record treatments and patient responses; update MARs and charts.
• Perform trach care and changes per policy; maintain equipment.
• Maintain ventilation during CPR and conduct routine rounds of equipment.
