Job summary

The Respiratory Therapist at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System provides and evaluates respiratory therapies for patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary disease, including airway management and ventilator care.

Under the Respiratory Care Services department, you will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other professionals, with opportunities to precept students while following department protocols. A Florida RRT license and current certifications are required.

Qualifications

• Active Florida RRT licensure.
• Graduate of accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.
• NRP certification within 6 months for Venice Location only.
• NBRC credential currently active.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory therapies.
• Perform airway management, ABG sampling, CPR, and ventilator management.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals.
• Possibly precept or shadow healthcare students.
• Follow departmental protocols and participate in patient care planning.
