Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate therapeutic respiratory interventions for patients with cardiopulmonary disease. Responsibilities include airway management, ABG sampling, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring under departmental protocols.

The role involves potential intubations and arterial line insertions with approval, and collaboration with physicians, APPs, and nurses.

Qualifications

• Active Florida licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
• ACLS and PALS within six months of hire
• NRP certification within six months for Venice Location
• NBRC RRT credential

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate respiratory therapies for cardiopulmonary patients.
• Manage airway support and ventilator management.
• Perform arterial blood gas sampling and related procedures.
• Possibly elective/emergency intubations and arterial line insertions with approval.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses in care delivery.
• Precept or train healthcare students when appropriate.
