Job summary

Ochsner Health in New Orleans seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen services, diagnostic testing and ventilation support for in-patients and out-patients from neonatal to geriatric. You will operate RT-CRT equipment, draw and report ABGs and EKGs, and assist with airway management, under physician orders and established policies.

The role requires an Associate's Degree (Bachelor's preferred), a current state license as a Respiratory Therapist, NBRC RRT, BLS, and ACLS

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Current license as a Respiratory Therapist in the state of practice.
• NBC prime NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification.
• BLS from the American Heart Association is required; ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced respiratory therapy procedures according to established policy and procedure.
• Reviews and documents all clinical information regarding each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Provides care based on age-related criteria.
• Adapts care to specific patient populations while maintaining privacy and safety standards.
