Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care across the hospital, adhering to standards of care and policies. You will initiate ventilation, monitor patients, and collaborate with relief staff to ensure seamless patient management.

Requires NC licensure, CRT with 10+ years' experience or equivalent; BLS, PALS/NRP within 90 days, ACLS within 90 days. Performs quality improvement and ensures patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved respiratory care program or NBRC registry eligibility.
• CRT applicants must have a minimum of 10 years' experience.
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist (RCP) in NC; BLS required; PALS & NRP within 90 days; ACLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapies following age-appropriate standards of care and departmental policies.
• Initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation and airway support per age-appropriate standards.
• Report routine clinical procedures to relief personnel to ensure continuity of care.
• Perform competency for point-of-care testing and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Provide invasive and non-invasive monitoring to ensure patient safety and appropriateness of care.
• Maintain professional knowledge and participate in quality improvement to enhance service.
• Ensure age/developmentally appropriate patient care per Age-Specific Care Guidelines.
