Expected pay for this position is $31.49 - $37.05/hour. Actual pay will be based on experience, skills, and internal equity.

This is an hourly position with a night shift differential of $4.00/hr and a weekend differential of $3.25/hr.

Position Summary: The Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care in accordance with evidence-based policies for all patient populations, demonstrating competence in administering medical gases, medications, airway clearance, mechanical ventilation, and other respiratory modalities. The role involves monitoring supplies and equipment, and applying theoretical knowledge to care for neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, working collaboratively with healthcare team members.

Qualifications

Required:

• Associate's degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program
• Basic electronic medical record documentation skills
• BLS certification; NRP certification required within 6 months of hire
• Credentialed Registered Respiratory Therapist by NBRC
• Current Respiratory Care Practitioner license and NBRC credentials (if credentialed after July 1, 2002) or passed NBRC TMC and CSE exams
• Proof of application for state licensure prior to orientation; licensure must be obtained within six months of hire for new graduates

Preferred:

• BLS preferred for MSS
• NRP and PALS certifications within six months of hire for SAMC Rockford
