Position Details

Respiratory Therapist-Registered FT Evening/Night 7:00pm- 7:30am

Sign-on Bonus: $10,000

Position Objective

Provides respiratory therapy modalities included in the scope of practice to patients according to the department standards.

Essential Job Duties

• Administers medical gas therapy in accordance with all department procedures.
• Evaluates appropriateness and effectiveness of therapies for continuation or discontinuation according to department standards. Prepares and collaborates with advanced practitioners and clinical specialists to implement respiratory care plan.
• Reviews charts per department policy (orders, lab values, chest x-rays, etc.) and documents care provided accurately and consistently.
• Operates and maintains equipment in a safe and sanitary condition, following department guidelines, and returns equipment upon patient discharge.
• Observes patients during therapies for adverse reactions and acts in accordance with department policy. Monitors response to therapy.

Educational and Experience Requirements

• Associate's Degree from an accredited college.

Required Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist credentialed by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
• State of Maryland License or eligibility as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

Employees may be exposed to blood-borne pathogens. Physical work is classified as medium effort, involving exertion up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 30 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly. Reasonable accommodations are available as per the Americans with Disabilities Act.
