Qualifications

• Licensed to practice by the state of employment as a Respiratory Practitioner.
• Must have BLS upon hire and ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• Must maintain licenses and certification for the duration of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for adults and geriatric patients (18+).
• Explain treatments and document patient education.
• Perform prescribed respiratory therapies and use oxygen delivery devices as ordered.
• Set up, operate and monitor ventilators; participate in ventilator weaning as directed.
• Record treatments and patient responses in charts and MARs.
• Perform trach care and manage tubing and suction devices per policy.
• Report changes and communicate with nurses and physicians.
