Job summary

Accendra Health in Indiana is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to support both in-office and field-based patient care. The role offers a balanced schedule with a predictable hours and a rotating on-call rotation.

You will perform home visits for oxygen setups, educate caregivers, document care, and work closely with physicians and case managers to ensure high‑quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with IN RT license.
• Minimum 2 years of RT or RN experience in respiratory care.
• Ability to stand, lift 10-50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license.
• Comfortable using mobile technology and digital documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct home visits to set up oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Document care delivered and elevate concerns as needed.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and branch teams.
• Set up and operate respiratory equipment including oxygen, nebulization, PAP, and ventilation.
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry and vitals.

Key highlights

• Work Arrangement: On-site; 50% office, 50% road.
• Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
• Driving Distance: Up to 60 miles from the branch.
• Reimbursements: Mileage $0.70.
• Salary range: $32 - $38 per hour. Compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.
• On-call transparency: Rotates every 8th week.

What you’ll do

• Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups.
• Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and elevate concerns appropriately.
• Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs.
• Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop.
• Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
• Inspect and test equipment to ensure proper operating condition.
• Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs.
• Performs other duties as required.

What we look for

• Registered Respiratory Therapist with an active IN RT license.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RT or RN in respiratory care.
• Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 - 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license.
• Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy.
• Hold a current CPR Certification.
• Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice.
