Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction. The role includes performing therapeutic procedures, documenting care, and educating patients and staff.

Qualifications include Pennsylvania licensure or TPP, CRT certification, CPR, and background clearances. Preferred candidates may be RRT and have hospital experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to expiration of TPP.
• CPR – American Heart Association.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate.
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%)
• Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education. (20%)
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)
• Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
