Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.

Responsibilities include administering therapeutic respiratory care procedures, documenting to measure and improve department effectiveness, performing diagnostic procedures, and educating patients and team members.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Preferred Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care (RRT); two years' hospital experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital policies.
• Completes required documentation (charting, billing, IPOC, patient education).
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures per hospital policy.
• Provides instruction to patients and healthcare team as needed.
