Job summary

Allegheny Health Network, part of Highmark Health, seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide assessment, treatment, care, and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.

Responsibilities include administering respiratory care procedures, documenting care and billing, performing diagnostic procedures, and educating patients and staff. PA licensure and CRT certification required; NBRC RRT preferred; two years hospital experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• PA licensure as a Respiratory Therapist or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• CRT certification required prior to TPP expiration.
• Preferred: RRT registration with NBRC.
• Two years' hospital-based pulmonary/respiratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies.
• Completes documentation to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness (charting, billing, IPOC, patient education).
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies.
• Provides instruction to patients and other healthcare team members as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
