Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pennsylvania is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide assessment, treatment, and care for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction.

The role involves administering therapeutic respiratory procedures, documenting care, performing diagnostic tests, and educating patients and staff. Requires PA licensure, CRT, and preferably RRT, with at least two years in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Preferred Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care RRT.
• Two years' experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%)
• Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education. (20%)
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)
• Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
