Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Erie, PA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction. Responsibilities include administering therapeutic respiratory care procedures, documenting activities, performing diagnostic procedures, and educating patients and staff.

Pennsylvania licensure and CRT/RRT credentials preferred; 2 years hospital experience desired.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• Pennsylvania state licensure as a Respiratory Therapist, or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) National Board of Respiratory Care required prior to the expiration of the Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care (RRT) preferred.
• Two years' experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%)
• Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education. (20%)
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)
• Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
