Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh seeks a Respiratory Therapist to provide assessment, treatment and care for patients with respiratory disorders under licensed medical direction. The role administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures, documents care, and performs diagnostic procedures in line with hospital policies.

Required are a graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program, PA licensure or TPP, CRT certification, and preferred RRT designation plus hospital-based experience

Qualifications

• Minimum graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program.
• PA licensure as Respiratory Therapist or Temporary Practice Permit (TPP).
• CRT certification is required.
• RRT certification preferred.
• Two years’ experience in pulmonary/respiratory medicine in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic respiratory care procedures according to hospital and department policies. (55%)
• Completes documentation that is required to measure, monitor, and ensure department effectiveness e.g., charting, billing, IPOC, patient/family education. (20%)
• Performs diagnostic respiratory procedures according to hospital and department policies. (20%)
• Provides instruction to patients and other members of the healthcare team as needed. (5%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
